Dr. Georgios Styliaris talks about: "Preparing many-body quantum states with quantum circuits and measurements"
Although measurements are often thought of as a way to extract information from a quantum state, they can also be utilized as an active ingredient in quantum protocols. In this talk I will explore how the resources needed to prepare paradigmatic many-body states can be drastically reduced by utilizing measurements and feedforward. I will discuss concrete protocols and the connection with topological phases.
M.Sc. Sebastian Eppelt talks about "Microwave-shielded polar molecules: from evaporation to tetramers"
Preparing and controlling quantum systems with dipolar interactions has been a long sought-after goal of physicists in different fields. In my talk, I will give a short overview of these systems in general and then focus on our work on ultracold molecules, especially our recent advances in the technique of microwave-shielding, that enabled us create a degenerate Fermi gas of molecules and discover field-linked resonances and tetratomic bound states.
