“Dopant pairing in a disordered magnetic spin ladder”

"Understanding the pairing of dopants in magnetic lattices is an immense challenge, closely tied to the microscopics of high-temperature superconductivity. Here, I provide a novel pairing mechanism of dopants. While conventional pairing comes down to a distortion of an underlying order of the system, the newly discovered effect appears in a completely disordered spin environment. Indeed, it is precisely the disorder that frustrates the relative motion of the dopants. This provides a novel link between dopant pairing and the physics of Anderson localization. I also showcase how my results can be tested in quantum simulators with currently implemented techniques."
