High-altitude Hackathon: Theory Division Collaborates on New Scientific Proposals

The Theory Division of MPQ recently held a collaborative workshop at the environmental research station Schneefernerhaus located on Zugspitze at an altitude of 2650 meters above sea level. The workshop was designed to encourage the generation of new scientific project ideas, with five teams working on proposals related to quantum information, quantum optics and quantum many-body physics. The teams presented their proposals to each other, providing feedback and suggestions to refine the research ideas. The hackathon-style event took place under excellent weather conditions and the participants were treated to fantastic views of the surrounding snow-peaked mountains. The atmosphere of the workshop was highly productive and the event provided a great opportunity for the scientists to collaborate on innovative research ideas.
