New Publication: Information Scrambling over Bipartitions: Equilibration, Entropy Production, and Typicality

In recent years, the out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC) has emerged as a diagnostic tool for information scrambling in quantum many-body systems. Here, we present exact analytical results for the OTOC for a typical pair of random local operators supported over two regions of a bipartition. more

New Publication: Verifying the output of quantum optimizers with ground-state energy lower bounds

Solving optimization problems encoded in the ground state of classical-spin systems is a focus area for quantum computing devices, providing upper bounds to the unknown solution. To certify these bounds, they are compared to those obtained by classical methods. more

Congratulations to Henrik Dreyer for successfully defendeding his thesis!

In his thesis, Henrik improved a method (Tensor Networks) used to simulate Quantum Many-Body Systems. These systems are classified as either “gapped” or “gapless”. While Tensor Networks work great for most gapped systems, he showed under which circumstances they can be used to describe “gapless” systems. more
