ERC Projects

The European Research Council (ERC), which was brought to life in 2007, supports with different funding instruments outstanding researchers with groundbreaking projects in Europe

The MPQ acts as host institution for several researchers who have been awarded an ERC Grant.

Ongoing ERC Starting Grant projects at MPQ are:

• Horizon 2020 ERC Starting Grant UniRand - Random Unitaries in a Rapid Optical Lattice Simulator - Dr. Philipp Preiss
• Horizon 2020 ERC Starting Grant QuantumNet - A Scalable Quantum Network based on Individual Erbium Ions - Dr. Andreas Reiserer (ended in 2024)

MPQ is hosting the following ERC Consolidator Grant projects:

• Horizon Europe ERC Consolidator Grant DiMoBecTe - Dipolar superfluid of diatomic molecules and Bose-Einstein condensate of tetramers – Dr. Xinyu Luo

The following ERC Advanced Grant projects were secured at MPQ:

• Horizon Europe ERC Advanced Grant H-SPECTR - High Resolution Laser Spectroscopy of Atomic Hydrogen and Deuterium - Prof. Thomas Udem
• Horizon Europe ERC Advanced Grant  COMB - Precision measurements in molecules with frequency combs – Prof. Nathalie Picqué
