Abstract:

Markov chains play an essential role in classical probability theory. However, their quantum generalization is not so straightforward due to the non-commutativity of quantum theory. I will discuss existing results in the literature along that direction from the perspective of quantum information theory, focusing on their relation to quantum thermal states.

We begin at 11h with an informal discussion and continue with the talk at 11:20.
