Abstract:
In this talk I will discuss the paper SciPostPhys.9.2.021 <https://scipost.org/10.21468/SciPostPhys.9.2.021> and the related literature. I will try to give an overview of the topic of chaos in quantum many body systems and present some interesting results that give new perspectives to some more or less well-known facts, namely: that there exist quantum systems like the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick (SK) and Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) models that admit well-defined chaotic semiclassical limits; that quantities like square commutators, echo observables and other out of time order correlators (OTOCs) show signatures of this chaotic behaviour; that the vicinity to the semiclassical limit seems to be important to actually observe these signatures. Hopefully this will trigger a fruitful discussion, as intended by the new seminar format.
We will start at 11h with an informal discussion and continue at 11:20 with the talk.
