Abstract:
In this talk we review variational PEPS algorithms for two-dimensional quantum spin systems. First we focus on the optimization of ground-state approximations for generic hamiltonians, and show some benchmark results. Next, we build excited-state wavefunctions on top of such a PEPS ground state using a generalization of the single-mode approximation. We show how to compute dispersion relations with this approach, and compare with other methods. We close with applications of the same PEPS methods for simulating three-dimensional stat.mech. models.
