Microresonator frequency combs have attracted much recent interest due to their potential to enable time and frequency metrology applications in a highly compact and robust platform.
I will provide an overview of the underlying
principles of such combs and of our work on developing silicon and silicon
nitride microresonators for operation from the visible to mid-infrared.
