Quantum control of massive mechanical objects The question of how quantum mechanics applies to massive, macroscopic objects has fascinated scientists from the early days of quantum theory until now. While this question remains unanswered, techniques are being developed to control and measure increasingly complex systems in the quantum regime. Such efforts are also motivated and propelled by the promise of new quantum technologies. [more]
