In this presentation I will focus on discussing the interplay of Coulomb interactions and weak disorder in atomically thin two-dimensional semiconductors.

I apply many-body approximations for the ground-state energy and self-energy of the electrons and holes in two-dimensional electron gas superlattices with the aim of understanding recent pump-probe optical measurements of few-layer transition metal dichalcogenides. Quantitatively important effetcs, such as finite thickness of quantum wells and weak disorder, will be discussed.
