Professor Eli Yablonovitch is visiting the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics from July 7 until July 17, 2023. He is a guest of the Attosecond Physics Division.

Eli Yablonovitch is a prominent scientist who is currently Professor Emeritus in the Graduate School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley, as well as Director Emeritus of the NSF Center for Energy Efficient Electronics Science (E3S), which is a multi-university center headquartered at Berkeley. Despite the "emeritus" adjective, he is still a very active researcher. His current research areas include physics-based computing for optimization and deep learning, photonic crystals at optical and microwave frequencies, optical antennas, and solar cells.
