I will present recent work realizing topological phases of photons.
Beginning with a spin-hall meta-material for RF photons in coupled
resonators (in conjunction with the SchusterLab), I will proceed to a
description of recent progress towards strongly
interacting topological microwave circuits. I will also describe a
parallel effort demonstrating Landau levels for optical photons in
non-planar (twisted) optical resonators, and work to mediate strong
interactions between harmonically confined, massive photons using
resonator Rydberg-EIT. This work holds short-term promise for
dissipative production of photonic Laughlin states, and long-term
potential as a route to controlled studies of anyons.
