DESCRIPTION:I will present our work developing optogenetic vision restorati
 on technologies for blind patients with retinal degenerative diseases. I w
 ill discuss how we transform surviving retinal cells into photoreceptor-li
 ke cells capable of responding to light stimuli. Our approach has progress
 ed from initial proof-of-concept studies in animal models to clinical appl
 ications in blind human patients\, demonstrating meaningful visual percept
