Inequalities in access and success in higher education are universal across all higher education systems in the world. As the world becomes increasingly politically polarised, this lecture will consider why making higher education more accessible to different groups is an imperative for universities, society and the field of society and technology. Drawing on research undertaken across the world into equity, diversity and inclusion in higher education Professor Atherton will show what inequality in higher education looks like and how it can be addressed.
