+++ONLINE KOLLOQUIUM+++ Attosecond Valence Band Dynamics in Solids (Prof. Ulf Kleineberg)

Attosecond time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy provides new insights into the photoelectric effect and gives information about the relative as well as absolute timing of photoemission from different electronic states like core versus valence band states within the electronic band structure of solids.

Electron transport and scattering phenomena as well as electron-electron correlation effects can be potentially observed on attosecond time scales, when focusing on the valence band dynamics. However, inner valenceband effects were currently almost non accessible due to the simultaneous requirements on energy, momentum and time resolution. Here, we report for the first time about innerband delays between sp and d band states in the photoemission from tungsten as well as final state effects in resonant photoemission.
