Research Schools

Research Schools

Physics students have the opportunity of applying for a fellowship with one of our Research Schools. While the focus of the International PhD Programme of Excellence on Quantum Computing, Control and Communication (QCCC) is on quantum information processing and related fields, with a close interplay between theory and experiment, the main topic of the International Max Planck Research School on Advanced Photon Science(IMPRS-APS) is the forefront research of novel light sources and their application in physics, chemistry and biology.

Within these programmes a doctoral project, which is accompanied by special lectures, typically runs over three years. Both research schools are in intensive exchange with international networks.
