MPQ Distinguished Scholar Programme
The Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics aims at a close cooperation with eminent scientists worldwide. Therefore a MPQ Distinguished Scholar Programme has been launched which offers excellent scientists the possibility of performing research in one of the scientific divisions.
The Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics aims at a close cooperation with eminent scientists worldwide. Therefore a MPQ Distinguished Scholar Programme has been launched which offers excellent scientists the possibility of performing research in one of the scientific divisions.
- Duration of visit: three to six months within a period of up to three years. For the time of his staying at MPQ the scholar will receive an honorary salary which covers the costs of living, travel expenses, etc..
- Tasks of MPQ Distinguished Scholars: MPQ scholars have no formal teaching duties, although they may be asked to give some introductory talks. They will be hosted by the particular MPQ division and are expected to devote their full time to research and collaboration.
- Application procedure: Candidates will be nominated by MPQ directors. No direct application will be accepted.
- Selection procedure: The MPQ directors will select the nominated MPQ scholar. Criterion for selection will be the scientific excellence of the nominee.
The Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics will host up to two Distinguished MPQ Scholars at a given time.
