Results of BP&IF Board Elections 2006

According to the Statutes , three members of the BP&IF Board have to be elected in 2006 for the period 2006 - 2010.
The period of  J. Meyer-ter-Vehn (Germany), P. Mora (France), and P. Norreys (England) is running out. In January 2006, all BP&IF members have been asked to nominate candidates. Four candidates have been nominated. The elections have been conducted by J. Meyer-ter-Vehn in the period March 27 to April 20, 2006. Here is the result:

number of full members to whom ballot was sent: 110
number of people who actually voted:  40
number of valid votes: 39

Mike Dunne (England) : 36

V. Tikhonchuk (France) : 36

M. Roth (Germany) : 19

 O. Willi (Germany) : 17

As a result, Mike Dunne (England), Markus Roth (Germany), and V. Tikhonchuk (France) have been elected as new  members of the BPIF Board for the years 2006 - 2010. The other three elected members, S. Atzeni  (Italy), J. Honrubia (Spain), and J. Wolowski (Poland) will stay on the Board until 2008. The new Board will take over responsibility at the next BPIF Board meeting in June 2006, when both old  and new members will meet in Rome during the next  EPS Conference on Plasma Physics.
